A nation is a place where they are free to live the way their ancestors lived.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, <\/span><b>Assam is tilted towards the constitutional boundaries,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which gives it more control over forest regions that have been historically under the control of tribals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Third<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the state and center governments have <\/span><b>failed to focus on long-lasting solutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the past, Assam had inflicted economic blockades on Mizoram and Nagaland after every border tussle.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No central government has taken these border disputes seriously, much less tried to resolve them.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5><b>Way Ahead<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the past, there were proposals to turn the disputed areas into economic zones, which would benefit the states concerned.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Disputed borders can also become educational hubs, IT parks, health centres, and tourist destinations.
