They can be converted into Affordable Rental Housing Complexes under the Affordable Rental Housing Complexes Scheme.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About Affordable Rental Housing Complexes Scheme: <\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Affordable Rental Housing Complexes(ARHCs) <\/strong>is a Sub-scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban (PMAY-U) to provide affordable rental housing to urban migrants\/ poor close to their workplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Objectives:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>To address <\/strong>the vision of \u2018AtmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan\u2019 significantly by creating a sustainable ecosystem of affordable rental housing solutions for urban migrants\/poor.<\/li>\n<li><strong>To achieve <\/strong>the overall objective of \u201cHousing for All\u201d encompassing the need for affordable rental housing for urban migrants\/poor.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Also, to create <\/strong>a conducive environment by incentivizing Public\/Private Entities to leverage investment in rental housing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ARHCs to be considered till PMAY (U) Mission period, i.e. March 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Beneficiaries:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Beneficiaries for ARHCs will be varied groups of urban migrants\/ poor from EWS\/ LIG categories including industrial &amp; construction workers, migrants working with market\/ trade associations, educational\/ health institutions, hospitality sector, long-term tourists\/ visitors, students, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Implementation Strategy: <\/strong>The ARHCs will be built through a two-pronged strategy: &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Strategy-1<\/strong>: Utilizing existing Government funded vacant houses to convert into ARHCs through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) or by Public Agencies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Strategy-2<\/strong>: Construction, Operation &amp; Maintenance of ARHCs by Public\/ Private Entities on their own available vacant land.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?\u00a0 Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs has informed that about 88,236 govt-funded vacant houses are available.
