Under this collaboration, the LSHTM will conduct clinical trials of \u2018Ashwagandha\u2019 on 2,000 participants in three U.K. cities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The study will be conducted for a period of three months<\/strong>. Under this, one group of 1,000 participants will be administered \u2018Ashwagandha\u2019 [AG] tablets, while the second group of 1,000 participants will be assigned a <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/what-is-a-placebo-how-is-it-used-in-medical-trials\/\">placebo<\/a> which<a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/what-is-a-placebo-how-is-it-used-in-medical-trials\/\">\u00a0<\/a>is indistinguishable from AG in looks and taste.<\/li>\n<li><strong>These patients will then be observed<\/strong> to understand the effects of Ashwagandha\u2019 in promoting recovery from COVID-19.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About \u2018Ashwagandha\u2019:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ashwagandha\u2019 (<\/strong>Withania somnifera) is commonly known as \u2018Indian winter cherry \u2019.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It is a traditional Indian herb <\/strong>that boosts energy, reduces stress, and makes the immune system stronger.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ashwagandha<\/strong> has also shown success in treating both acute and chronic rheumatoid arthritis.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)<\/strong> is an autoimmune disease that can cause joint pain and damage throughout your body.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The Hindu What is the News?
