But, the Covid-19 pandemic has slowed down the implementation of the policy.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the proposals in the policy are poised to see the light of day this academic year. Such as,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An academic <strong>credit bank for undergraduate students<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>14 engineering colleges across eight states will teach <strong>undergraduate programmes in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi<\/strong> from the new academic year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%;\"><strong>Read more<\/strong>:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/pm-to-roll-out-academic-credit-bank\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PM to roll out academic credit bank<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h5><strong>Challenges with the National Education Policy:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>The government will <strong>need to put in significant resources and work<\/strong> <strong>to create a knowledge ecosystem<\/strong> <strong>for<\/strong> engineering courses in the <strong>regional languages<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>When the government is calling for greater autonomy, several universities continue to function without vice-chancellors.
