{"id":123092,"date":"2021-08-03T17:39:48","date_gmt":"2021-08-03T12:09:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=123092"},"modified":"2021-08-04T16:42:28","modified_gmt":"2021-08-04T11:12:28","slug":"tribal-affairs-minister-inaugurates-virtual-training-of-trainers-programme-on-forest-rights-act-2006","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/tribal-affairs-minister-inaugurates-virtual-training-of-trainers-programme-on-forest-rights-act-2006\/","title":{"rendered":"Tribal Affairs Minister inaugurates \u2018Virtual Training of Trainers Programme on Forest Rights Act, 2006\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1741639\"><strong>PIB<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Minister of Tribal Affairs has inaugurated a \u2018Three day National level Virtual Training of Trainers Programme on Forest Rights Act, 2006,\u2019 as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav\/Parv.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About National level Virtual Training of Trainers Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This Programme on Forest Rights Act will help in enhancing the knowledge base of the Forest Rights Act and ensuring the development of the tribal community.<\/p>\n<p>The themes designed in the program will help in understanding Community Rights, Community Forest Resources, empowering the right holders for forest governance.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About Forest Rights Act, 2006:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Forest Rights Act <\/strong>is also known as Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The act recognizes the rights <\/strong>of the Forest Dwelling Scheduled Tribes(FDST) and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers(OTFD), on the forest resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Objectives of the Act:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>To undo the historical injustice that <\/strong>occurred to the forest-dwelling communities<\/li>\n<li><strong>To ensure land tenure, <\/strong>livelihood, and food security of the forest-dwelling Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers<\/li>\n<li><strong>To strengthen the conservation regime <\/strong>of the forests by including the responsibilities and authority of Forest Rights holders for sustainable use, conservation of biodiversity, and maintenance of ecological balance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Rights: <\/strong>The Act identifies four types of rights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Title rights<\/strong>: It gives Forest Dwelling Scheduled Tribes(FDST) and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers(OTFD) the right to ownership to land farmed by tribals or forest dwellers subject to a maximum of 4 hectares.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ownership is only for land<\/strong> that is actually being cultivated by the concerned family, and no new lands will be granted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use rights<\/strong>: Right of extracting Minor Forest Produce, grazing areas among others.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Relief and development rights<\/strong>: To rehabilitate in case of illegal eviction or forced displacement and to basic amenities, subject to restrictions for forest protection.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forest management rights<\/strong>: It includes the right to protect forests and wildlife.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?
