{"id":123982,"date":"2021-08-06T20:10:56","date_gmt":"2021-08-06T14:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=123982"},"modified":"2021-08-11T16:03:38","modified_gmt":"2021-08-11T10:33:38","slug":"star-rating-proposed-for-tyres-for-better-fuel-saving-and-comfortable-driving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/star-rating-proposed-for-tyres-for-better-fuel-saving-and-comfortable-driving\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Rating proposed for Tyres for better fuel saving and comfortable driving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1742668\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has proposed the \u00a0\u201cstar rating\u201d or \u201clabeling\u201d norms for Tyres for better fuel-saving and comfortable driving.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About Standard and Labelling Programme (S&amp;L)<\/strong>:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Standard and Labelling Programme(S&amp;L)\u00a0<\/strong>is one of the major initiatives of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective: <\/strong>To provide the consumer with an informed choice about the energy-saving and thereby the cost-saving potential of the relevant marketed product.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The scheme targets<\/strong> the display of energy performance labels on high energy end-use equipment &amp; appliances and lays down minimum energy performance standards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Presently<\/strong>, the S&amp;L program covers a star rating for 26 appliances\/equipment including 10 for which it is mandatory. The other appliances are presently under the voluntary labeling phase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)<\/strong> was set up by the Government of India in 2002 under the provision of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purpose<\/strong>: The mission of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency is to assist in developing policies and strategies with a thrust on self-regulation and market principles. BEE does this for the primary objective to reduce the energy intensity of the Indian economy within the overall framework of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001.<\/li>\n<li><strong>This will be achieve<\/strong>d with the active participation of all stakeholders, resulting in accelerated and sustained adoption of energy efficiency in all sectors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB \u00a0What is the News?
