Agarose is a natural polymer derived from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/what-are-the-benefits-of-seaweed-farming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seaweed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> agar.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The dressing material<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can be used for the treatment of infected diabetic wounds and patients suffering from chronic wounds.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The material was developed with the support <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Advanced<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Manufacturing Technologies programme of the Department of Science &amp; Technology.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>About <\/b><b>Advanced<\/b><b> Manufacturing Technologies programme:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Government has set a growth target for the manufacturing sector from 16% of GDP to reach 25% of GDP by 2025.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In accordance with this objective, the Department of Science and Technology has initiated this program for developing Advanced Manufacturing Technologies in October 2015<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><b>Objectives of the Programme:<\/b><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five thrust areas were selected for developing novel manufacturing technologies:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nanomaterials &amp; surfaces,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Robotics &amp; automation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Precision manufacturing,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The manufacturing process of Pharmaceuticals &amp; Biomanufacturing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Advanced forming &amp; near net shape processing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Encourage R&amp;D labs to move some of their activities from \u201cdiscovery research\u201d towards \u201cindustrially relevant R&amp;D\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?
