It also provides data on the atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, terrestrial biosphere and driving factors of climate change.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><b>Key Findings:<\/b><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><b>China is facing a growing risk <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of experiencing extreme weather and climate events and a temperature rise higher than the global average as a result of continuing climate warming.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Sea Level<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: In 2020, the sea level in China&#8217;s coastal areas was 73 mm higher than the average from 1993 to 2011, the third-highest since 1980. The continued rise of sea temperature in summer has caused severe coral bleaching in several islands in the disputed South China Sea<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Typhoons: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The average intensity of typhoons landing in China has increased since the late 1990s. China is hit by nine typhoons this year, causing widespread devastation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><b>Other Reports:<\/b><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Greenpeace East Asia <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has released a report analyzing temperature data for 57 cities across mainland China, Korea and Japan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>The report <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has found that scorching temperatures and increasingly severe heatwaves are becoming much more frequent in cities across East Asia.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Moreover,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the report has shown that hot weather was arriving earlier in the year in more than 80% of the cities studied<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: AIR What is the News?
