{"id":125603,"date":"2021-08-12T18:12:53","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T12:42:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=125603"},"modified":"2021-08-13T09:19:45","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T03:49:45","slug":"increasing-cooperative-activities-in-agriculture-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/increasing-cooperative-activities-in-agriculture-sector\/","title":{"rendered":"Increasing Cooperative Activities in Agriculture Sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1744869\"><b>PIB<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Minister of State for Cooperation has informed Rajya Sabha about the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Central Sector Integrated Scheme on Agricultural Cooperation (CSISAC) scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>About Central Sector Integrated Scheme on Agricultural Cooperation (CSISAC) scheme:<\/b><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><b>CSISAC scheme<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is the result of a merger of two erstwhile schemes of 11<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five-Year Plan viz;\u00a0<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Restructured Central Sector Scheme for Assistance to National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) Programmes for Development of Cooperatives and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Central Sector Scheme for Education &amp; Training.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Objective: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To provide financial assistance for improving the economic conditions of cooperatives, remove regional imbalances, and speed up cooperative development in agricultural and allied sectors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Implementing Agency:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Assistance is provided under the scheme through the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><b>Key Features of the Scheme:<\/b><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Financial assistance <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is provided under the scheme for marketing, storage, and processing of agricultural produce, besides the supply of agricultural inputs.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Subsidy to the tune<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of 15% to 25% is provided to Cooperatives depending on the category of state in addition to the term loan.\u00a0<\/span><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>The government also provides<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a Guarantee for procurement operations of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Moreover, assistance <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is provided for providing training to farmers who are members and employees of various types of cooperative societies through the National Cooperative Union of India(NCUI) and the National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?
