{"id":12599,"date":"2019-12-28T15:30:38","date_gmt":"2019-12-28T10:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=12599"},"modified":"2019-12-28T15:30:38","modified_gmt":"2019-12-28T10:00:38","slug":"scheme-for-enhancement-of-competitiveness-in-capital-goods-sector-to-be-scaled-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/scheme-for-enhancement-of-competitiveness-in-capital-goods-sector-to-be-scaled-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in Capital Goods Sector to be Scaled up"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises is implementing the scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Department of Heavy Industry in the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises had launched the scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector in 2014.<\/li><li>The scheme is focused on making the Indian capital goods sector globally competitive and give a boost to the Indian economy.&nbsp;<\/li><li>It aims to address the technological obsolescence, limited access to quality industrial infrastructure and common facilities in the capital goods sector.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectives of the scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To encourage technology development through joint participation with Academia, Industry R&amp;D institute and Government and facilitate transfer\/acquiring the critical technologies in the capital goods industry.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>To create common physical infrastructure for enhancing the competitiveness of the local industry, enabling it to withstand the import penetration.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Components Of The Scheme:<\/strong>The scheme has five components to achieve the desired result in pilot mode &#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Advanced Centres of Excellence<\/li><li>Integrated Industrial Infrastructure Facilities(IIFC)<\/li><li>Common Engineering Facility Centre(CEFC)<\/li><li>Testing &amp; Certification Centre(T&amp;CC) and&nbsp;<\/li><li>Technology Acquisition Fund Programme(TAFP).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional information:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Capital Goods Sector:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Capital Goods refer to products that are used in the production of other products but are not incorporated into the new product.<\/li><li>These include machine tools, industrial machinery, process plant equipment, construction &amp; mining equipment, electrical equipment, textile machinery, printing &amp; packaging machinery among others.<\/li><li>Capital Goods industry is considered as the most important component of manufacturing sector.<\/li><li>The manufacturing sector is crucial for the development of the country\u2019s economy as the Capital Goods industry contributes about 12% to the total manufacturing activity in India that is about 2% of the GDP.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Government of India has set a target of USD 1 trillion manufacturing economy in the next five years and to achieve this the sector has to grow at double digits.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises is implementing the scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector.
