{"id":126380,"date":"2021-08-16T19:56:40","date_gmt":"2021-08-16T14:26:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=126380"},"modified":"2021-08-16T19:59:12","modified_gmt":"2021-08-16T14:29:12","slug":"union-wcd-minister-launches-2nd-phase-of-samvad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/union-wcd-minister-launches-2nd-phase-of-samvad\/","title":{"rendered":"Union WCD Minister launches 2nd Phase of SAMVAD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1745898\"><b>PIB<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Minister of Women and Child Development has launched the 2nd phase of SAMVAD programme.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>About SAMVAD Programme:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>SAMVAD <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stands for <\/span><b>S<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">upport, <\/span><b>A<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dvocacy &amp; <\/span><b>M<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ental health interventions for children in <\/span><b>V<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ulnerable circumstances And <\/span><b>D<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">istress.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Mandate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a National Initiative and Integrated Resource that works in child protection, mental health and psychosocial care.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Aim:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To provide mental health outreach for children who are abandoned and orphaned, child survivors of trafficking, or in conflict with law.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Implementation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The programme is led by <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences(NIMHANS). It is funded by Ministry of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of Women and Child Development.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>NIMHANS is the apex centre of mental health and neuroscience education. It operates autonomously <strong>under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Under the Programme,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> training is being provided to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Child Protection Functionaries, tele-counsellors, educators, law professionals among others. The training will be provided to cope mechanisms for children in distress.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>In the second phase, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SAMVAD is slated to begin work with Panchayati Raj institutions to integrate child protection and mental health in aspirational districts across the country.
