What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n

The Defence Minister will launch Defence India Startup Challenge(DISC 5.0).<\/span><\/p>\n

About Defence India Startup Challenge:<\/b><\/h5>\n
    \n
  1. Defence India Startup Challenge<\/b> has been launched by the <\/span>Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX), Defence Innovation Organisation(DIO)<\/span><\/a> with support from the Ministry of Defence and Atal Innovation Mission<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Aim: <\/b>To support Startups\/MSMEs\/Innovators to create prototypes and\/or commercialize products\/solutions in the area of National Defence and Security.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. DISC 5.0:<\/b> The fifth edition of <\/span>DISC will have more challenges than the first four DISC editions taken together.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    About SPARK:\u00a0<\/b><\/h5>\n
      \n
    1. SPARK<\/b> or Support for Prototype & Research Kickstart (in Defence) is the scheme for funding startups selected through the DISC challenges.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Applicants showing capability, <\/b>intent and promise to be able to produce functional prototypes or to productize existing technologies will be awarded up to Rs. 1.5 crores in the form of grant\/equity\/debt\/other relevant structures.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
