However, most people are not able to access these basic services.<\/li>\n<li>Given the prevalence of IT, the <strong>police are expected to be tech-savvy<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The police should have <strong>good conduct, empathy, and be responsive<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5><strong>Personnel management<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>It is important to manage the police personal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a need to <strong>appoint brilliant &amp; straightforward officials<\/strong> to the public positions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nepotism or postings<\/strong> and positions based on linkages and contacts <strong>cannot be allowed<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Supreme Court (SC) mandate of the <strong>process of selection of DGP<\/strong> is the right step in this direction.
