What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Drugs Controller General of India\u2019s (DCGI\u2019s) has granted emergency approval for Zycov-D vaccine.<\/span><\/p>\n

About Zycov-D:<\/b><\/h5>\n

  1. Zycov-D <\/b>is a DNA plasmid-based Covid-19 vaccine developed by Zycov Cadilla Group in <\/span>partnership with the Department of Biotechnology under the \u2018<\/span>Mission COVID Suraksha\u2019.<\/span><\/a><\/b><\/li>\n
  2. It is the world\u2019s first<\/b> and India\u2019s indigenously developed DNA based vaccine for COVID-19.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The vaccine is an<\/b> intradermal vaccine which means it is applied using a \u2018needle-free injector\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. The vaccine is to be administered <\/b>in humans, including Children and adults 12 years and above.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Unlike other Covid-19 vaccines<\/b> which are given in two doses, Zycov-D will be given<\/span> in three doses with an interval of 28 days between each dose.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. The vaccine development has been supported <\/b>under COVID-19 Research Consortia through <\/span>National Biopharma Mission <\/span><\/a>for Preclinical studies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
