Such as finding and eliminating enemy submarines and large surface ships.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Indian Navy <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">currently operates six Krivak class frigates in two different batches, such as the Talwar class and the upgraded Teg class.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5><b>India-Russia Deal for new Krivak Class Stealth Frigates:<\/b><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><b>\u00a0In 2016,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> India and Russia signed an Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) for four Krivak or Talwar class stealth frigates \u2014 two to be procured directly from Russia and two to be built by Goa Shipyard Ltd.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><b>Key Features of Krivak Class Stealth Frigates:<\/b><\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Krivak Class Stealth Frigates <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have a<\/span><b> displacement of 4,000 tons <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and a speed of 30 knots.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the <\/span><b>use of stealth technologies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a special hull design, these frigates have reduced radar cross-section (RCS) as well as electromagnetic, acoustic and infrared signatures.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Stealth Technology <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is used to make vehicles or missiles nearly invisible to enemy radar or other electronic detection.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The Hindu What is the News?
