The campaign is meant for Greywater management &amp; ODF sustainability.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About the Sujalam campaign<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Aim of the campaign: <\/strong>It aims to achieve <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open defecation free(ODF) <\/span>plus status for Villages across the Country in an accelerated manner<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It seeks to create more ODF Plus Villages by Undertaking Waste Water Management at Village Level<\/li>\n<li>This will be done by creating 1 million Soak-pits and other Greywater management activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Focus Area of the campaign<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organizing Community consultations and Gram Sabha meetings to analyze the current situation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pass resolution to maintain ODF sustainability<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Develop a 100 days plan to undertake sustainability and soak pit construction-related activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Construction of 1 million soak pits<\/li>\n<li>Retrofitting of toilets<\/li>\n<li>Access to toilets for new households<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is the need for this campaign?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Villages often struggle with the problem of wastewater and clogging of water bodies. The campaign will help villages in the management of wastewater and the revival of water bodies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Significance <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It will boost the momentum of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Grameen activities through community participation<\/li>\n<li>It will increase awareness about Open Defecation Free (ODF)-plus activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>About Greywater:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Greywater refers to <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">domestic wastewater that is generated in households or office buildings from streams without faecal contamination. Greywater includes all streams of water except wastewater from toilets.
