What is the News?<\/b><\/p>\n

Indian Railways has planned to operate 102 Vande Bharat trains by March 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Vande Bharat Train?<\/b><\/p>\n

  1. Vande Bharat <\/b>is India\u2019s first indigenously built <\/span>engineless semi-high speed train<\/span>. Earlier, it was known by the name <\/span>Train 18.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The train has been built by the <\/span>Integral Coach Factory, Chennai<\/b>, in a record time of <\/span>20 months.<\/b><\/li>\n
  3. The train is a <\/span>100% \u2018Make in India\u2019<\/span> project and is claimed to be built at half the cost of a similar train set that is imported.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. The train has some unique features<\/b> such as <\/span>modern air-conditioned coaches, touch-free automatic doors, GPS-enabled passenger information system, onboard uninterrupted Wi-Fi and Bio Toilets.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. The maiden<\/b> run of the Vande Bharat train <\/b>was inaugurated on the New Delhi-Varanasi route in 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    About 102 New Vande Bharat Trains by 2024:<\/b><\/p>\n

    1. These trains will be manufactured at <\/b>Integral Coach Factory (Chennai), Modern Coach Factory (Rae Bareilly) and Rail Coach Factory (Kapurthala).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Some of the new features in these trains include<\/b> four emergency windows for easy evacuation of passengers in case of an emergency; disaster lights in all coaches, more emergency push buttons (four per coach), \u201cpushback arrangement\u201d for better reclining of seats among others.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
