Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the <\/span>Phase II\/III clinical trials of the CORBEVAX vaccine in children aged above 5 years. <\/span>It has also received the nod for conducting Phase III trials in adults.<\/span><\/p>\n

About CORBEVAX Vaccine:<\/b><\/p>\n

CORBEVAX <\/b>is an indigenously<\/span> produced <\/span>COVID-19 vaccine candidate developed by the Indian pharmaceutical firm Biological E. Limited (BioE).<\/span><\/p>\n

It <\/b>is a \u201crecombinant protein sub-unit\u201d vaccine <\/b>which means it is made up of a specific part of SARS-CoV-2 \u2014 the <\/span>spike protein<\/span><\/a> on the virus\u2019s surface.<\/span><\/p>\n

About Subunit Vaccine:<\/b><\/p>\n

A subunit vaccine is one that only uses the very specific parts (the subunits) of a virus or bacterium that the immune system needs to recognize.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
