The Union Agriculture Minister has addressed the Chief Minister’s Conference on initiatives and schemes for farmers welfare.<\/span><\/p>\n To<\/span> highlight the salient features of Atma Nirbhar Krishi and to enable States to enhance farmers income. It was also an occasion to share innovative initiatives undertaken by the States.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n National Farmers Database: <\/b>The Ministry of Agricultural and Farmers Welfare<\/span> is creating a <\/span>national farmer database by taking data from existing schemes like PM-KISAN<\/a>, soil health card<\/strong><\/a> and PM Fasal Yojana<\/strong><\/a>. The database will have connectivity to the State land records database.<\/span><\/p>\n Currently, the database of 5.5 crore farmers is ready. It will be increased to 8 crore farmers by December 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n Palm Oil Mission<\/a>: <\/b>Indian Council of Agricultural Research(ICAR)<\/strong> has conducted a study on the areas in which oil palm cultivation can be expanded. The need to make India self-reliant in edible oils and palms was stressed and the role of the States was discussed.<\/span><\/p>\n Modifications in Agriculture Infrastructure Fund<\/a>:\u00a0<\/b>The eligibility for credit under the scheme has been extended to State Agencies\/APMCs, National & State Federations of Cooperatives, Federations of Farmers Producers Organizations(FPOs) and Federations of Self Help Groups (SHGs).<\/span><\/p>\n The eligible activities under the scheme include <\/span>community farming, assets, post-harvest management projects and primary processing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Source:<\/b> This post is based on the article<\/span> \u201c<\/b>Chief Ministers Conference on initiatives and schemes for farmers welfare<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in PIB <\/b>on 6th September 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
