{"id":132200,"date":"2021-09-07T19:58:11","date_gmt":"2021-09-07T14:28:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=132200"},"modified":"2021-09-08T14:34:06","modified_gmt":"2021-09-08T09:04:06","slug":"account-aggregators-new-framework-to-access-share-financial-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/account-aggregators-new-framework-to-access-share-financial-data\/","title":{"rendered":"Account Aggregators: new framework to access, share financial data"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, IDFC First Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, IndusInd Bank and Federal Bank have joined the <strong>Account Aggregator(AA) network<\/strong> that will enable customers to easily access and share their financial data.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is an Account Aggregator(AA)?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Account Aggregator <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a non-banking financial company that simply\u00a0facilitates sharing of financial information in a real-time and data-blind manner between regulated entities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The licence for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Account Aggregators(<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AAs) is issued by the <strong>Reserve Bank of India(RBI)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>How does it work?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>\u200b\u200b<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Account aggregator systems will <strong>act as an intermediary<\/strong> to collect data from <strong>Financial Information Providers (FIP)<\/strong> like Bank, NBFC, mutual funds that hold the consumer\u2019s personal financial data. They share that with <strong>Financial Information Users (FIU)<\/strong> like the lending bank that wants access to the borrower\u2019s data to determine if the borrower qualifies for a loan. Banks can play a dual role \u2013 as a FIP and as an FIU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, for sharing customer data, the bank or financial institution will have to take the customer&#8217;s consent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Benefits of Account Aggregator<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Customers:<\/strong> AA framework allows customers to avail various financial services from a host of providers on a single portal based on a consent method under which the consumers can choose what financial data to share and with which entity.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Less Physical Interaction<\/strong>: AA creates secure, digital access to personal data at a time when Covid-19 has led to restrictions on physical interaction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Reduction in Frauds:<\/strong> It also reduces the fraud associated with physical data by introducing secure digital signatures and end-to-end encryption for data sharing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201c<\/b><b>Account Aggregators: new framework to access, share financial data<\/b><b>\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published in<\/span><b> Indian Express <\/b>on <b>7th September 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the News?
