The Defence Minister has handed over the first deliverable Firing Unit (FU) of Medium Range Surface to Air Missile(MRSAM) System to the Indian Air Force(IAF).<\/span><\/p>\n About Medium Range Surface to Air Missile(MRSAM)\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Developed by: <\/b>Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) in collaboration with the Indian industry.<\/span><\/p>\n Purpose:<\/b> The missile <\/span>provides air defence against aerial threats like fighter aircraft, UAVs, guided and unguided munitions & cruise missiles.<\/span><\/p>\n Range:<\/b> The missile is capable of engaging multiple targets at ranges up to 70 kilometres.<\/span><\/p>\n Features:<\/b> The missile is powered by an indigenously developed rocket motor and control system for achieving high manoeuvrability during the terminal phase.<\/span><\/p>\n Source:<\/b> This post is based on the article<\/span> \u201c<\/b>DRDO hands over air defence missile (MRSAM) System to Indian Air Force<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in PIB <\/b>on 9th September 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
