The work on this variant <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">began in 2010 and the tank was fielded for trials in 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arjun Mk-1A is designed and developed by the<strong> Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment<\/strong> (CVRDE) along with the other laboratories of the <strong>Defence Research and Development Organisation <\/strong>(DRDO).<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What are the key features of Arjun Mk-1A?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Firstly, <\/b>Arjun Mk-1A is designed to enhance firepower, mobility and survivability. It can take on the enemy during <strong>day &amp; night conditions<\/strong>. Further, the new features include <strong>all-terrain mobility and manoeuvrability<\/strong> in different modes of operation, better <strong>target acquisition and precision firing<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>with a 360\u00b0 view<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It is also equipped with a massive 120 mm rifled gun and robust <strong>protective armour<\/strong> named \u2018<strong>Kanchan<\/strong>\u2019. Thus making it the most potent armoured system in the inventory of the army.
