It will start with a trial run in 75 villages in October 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the National<\/b><b> Mission on Cultural Mapping(NMCM)?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>The NMCM was approved by the Ministry of Culture in 2017<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to build a comprehensive database of artists, art forms and other resources from organisations under the Ministry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Aim<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: To address the necessities of preserving the threads of rich Indian Art and Cultural Heritage, converting the vast and widespread cultural canvas of India into an objective Cultural Mapping. It also aims to create a strong \u201c<strong>Cultural Vibrancy<\/strong>\u201d throughout the nation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It encompasses <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">data mapping, demography building, formalising the processes and bringing all cultural activities under one umbrella for better results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The work on creating<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a database for folk arts and mapping of the heritage of villages would be carried out over<strong> five years<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Teams of volunteers <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from the <strong>Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghathan<\/strong>, the <strong>National Service Scheme<\/strong> and students of sociology and social work would be deputed to visit villages and collect data on the art forms and heritage of the areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>About <\/b><b>Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts(IGNCA)<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IGNCA is an autonomous institution under the<strong> Ministry of Culture<\/strong>.
