Department of Youth Affairs<\/strong> of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports <\/strong>in commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava is organizing a nationwide Clean India Programme<\/strong> from 1st October 2021 to 31st October 2021.<\/p>\n The programme will be the largest cleanliness drive in the world<\/strong>. The programme will be organised in 6 Lakh villages of 744 Districts across the country through the networks of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan<\/a> (NYKS)<\/strong> affiliated Youth Clubs & National Service Scheme affiliated Institutions.<\/p>\n The aim<\/strong> of the programme is to create awareness, mobilize people and ensure their involvement in cleaning waste mainly Single-Use Plastic<\/strong> waste throughout the country.<\/p>\n Under this initiative, 75 Lakh kgs<\/strong> of waste, mainly plastic waste, will be collected and disposed of<\/strong> with the support and voluntary participation of citizens.<\/strong><\/p>\n The focus point<\/strong> of the Clean India Programme is villages. <\/strong>But, specific segments of the population such as Religious bodies, Teachers, Corporate Bodies, TV and Film Actors, and others are also participating on a particular designated day to show their solidarity<\/strong> for the cause and making it a public movement.<\/p>\n The Cleanliness Drives will also be undertaken at historical\/iconic locations<\/strong> and hotspots<\/strong> such as Tourist Places, Bus Stand\/Railway Stations, National Highways and Educational Institutions.<\/p>\n Source:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>This post is based on the article \u201cUnion Minister Shri Anurag Thakur launches nationwide Clean India Programme from Prayagraj<\/b>\u201d\u00a0<\/b>published in<\/span> PIB <\/b>on <\/span>1st<\/strong>\u00a0October 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the news?
