India take part in 5th edition of India \u2013 Japan Maritime Bilateral Exercise, JIMEX and 8th edition of India-Sri Lanka bilateral joint exercise Mitra Shakti this week.<\/p>\n
8th edition of India-Sri Lanka bilateral joint military exercise Mitra Shakti has commenced in Ampara<\/strong> in Sri Lanka<\/strong>. The two-week-long exercise is being conducted from 04 to 15 October 2021.<\/p>\n Over the next few days, troops will train, share and rehearse tactical\u00a0<\/span><\/span>drills to undertake<\/span><\/span>\u00a0joint\u00a0<\/span><\/span>counter-terrorism operations in a semi-urban\/rural environment<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>under United Nations<\/strong> mandate.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 5th\u00a0edition of\u00a0India \u2013 Japan Maritime Bilateral Exercise, JIMEX, between the Indian Navy (<\/span>IN<\/span><\/i>) and the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF), will be held in the\u00a0<\/span>Arabian Sea<\/span><\/b>\u00a0from 06 to 08 October 2021.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n JIMEX-21 aims to develop a <\/span>common understanding of operational procedures\u00a0and\u00a0enhance inter-operability through the conduct of a multitude of advanced exercises, across the entire spectrum of maritime operations.<\/p>\n Dharma Guardian<\/span><\/b>– Joint\u00a0<\/span>Military\u00a0Exercise that started off in 2018.
