The government has recently said that the\u00a0Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade<\/strong> (<\/span>DPIIT<\/span><\/b>) would become the<\/span>\u00a0nodal agency<\/span><\/b>\u00a0for monitoring and implementation of all infrastructure projects\u00a0under PM GATI SHAKTI PLAN.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In line with the Gati Shakti plan, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has\u00a0finalised\u00a0a blueprint for setting up multi-modal logistics parks, in collaboration with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is\u00a0PM Gati Shakti Master Plan?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a\u00a0master plan expected to boost infrastructure building by integrating key modes of transportation<\/span>\u00a0road, rail, air, waterways, thereby reducing logistics costs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>is a 100-lakh crore national infrastructure master plan. It aims to make a foundation for holistic infrastructure and give an integrated pathway to our economy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier status of PM Gati Shakti Master Plan<\/span><\/b><\/h5>\n

Till now, the government\u2019s policy think tank,\u00a0<\/span>NITI\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Aayog<\/strong>, and\u00a0<\/span>department of economic affairs<\/span><\/b>\u00a0were the key bodies to\u00a0<\/span>spearhead\u00a0<\/span><\/b>the overall infrastructure project implementation, apart from individual ministries handling their respective projects.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Other key initiatives to the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan<\/b><\/h5>\n

An\u00a0<\/span>online portal<\/span><\/b>\u00a0would be launched that would integrate the existing portal and data of key infrastructure ministries. It will provide\u00a0<\/span>real-time access to information<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and data on various\u00a0<\/span>infrastructure projects<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and help in better coordination among ministries.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NHAI\u00a0<\/span><\/b>would act as the\u00a0<\/span>nodal agency for these logistics parks\u00a0<\/span><\/b>and work in association with the state government and various state agencies for the execution of these warehousing facilities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These\u00a0<\/span>multi-modal logistics facilities<\/span><\/b>\u00a0would be exe\u00adcuted on a\u00a0<\/span>public-private partnership<\/span><\/b>, with a project com\u00adp\u00adletion timeline of two years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How the Gati Shakti Master Plan will be implemented?<\/h5>\n

The government is creating a new institutional mechanism to coordinate the implementation of the Gati Shakti master plan.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A network planning group (NPG)<\/strong> of technical experts from\u00a0each\u00a0ministry\u00a0will examine infrastructure projects of ministries costing more than 500 crore rupees\u00a0and would be classified as multimodal infrastructure projects.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The projects cleared by NPG will be sent to an EGoS (Empowered Group of Secretaries) under the chairmanship of the cabinet secretary for approving any changes required.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
