About UPSC Prelims\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\nCivil Services Examination consists of two successive stages i.e. Preliminary Examination and Mains Examination (Written and Interview).<\/p>\n
Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) is the first stage in the process and is qualifying in nature (Its marks are not counted for determining the final selection). Successful candidates qualify for the Main Examination.<\/p>\n
This stage comprises two compulsory objective types (multiple choice questions) Papers of 200 marks and 2 hours duration each.<\/p>\n
The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.<\/p>\n
