The Union Minister of Rural Development has launched the Climate Resilience Information System and Planning (CRISP-M) tool.<\/span><\/p>\n CRISP-M is a web and mobile phone-based <\/span>Geographic Information System(GIS) aided <\/span>tool that has been designed to help communities make climate-smart decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n The tool <\/span>will help integrate climate information in the GIS-based planning and implementation of Mahatma Gandhi NREGA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This tool will be used in seven states where the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Government of UK and Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India are jointly working towards climate resilience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The states are Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Rajasthan.<\/span><\/p>\n GIS <\/b>is a system that captures, stores, checks and displays data related to positions on Earth\u2019s surface.<\/span><\/p>\n It can show many different kinds of data<\/b> on one map such as streets, buildings, and vegetation.
