Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy<\/strong> (MNRE) has addressed the Ministerial session of the Green Grids Initiative-One Sun One World One Grid Northwest Europe Cooperative Event.<\/span><\/p>\n Note<\/b>: In May 2021, the United Kingdom<\/strong> and India<\/strong> have agreed to jointly launch the Green Grids-One Sun One World One Grid initiative<\/strong> at the COP26<\/strong> summit being hosted by the UK at Glasgow<\/strong> in November 2021. <\/span>The concept of OSOWOG is what the UK has called a <\/span>green grid.<\/b><\/p>\n The OSOWOG idea was first floated by the Indian Prime Minister in 2018 during the first assembly of the International Solar Alliance<\/strong> (ISA).<\/span><\/p>\n The idea behind the concept is a trans-national electricity grid supplying solar power across the globe.<\/span><\/p>\n The vision behind the OSOWOG mantra is \u201cthe Sun never sets\u201d and is a constant at some geographical location, globally, at any given point of time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n OSOWOG is planned to be completed in three phases.
