It will be replaced by seven new Defense Public Sector Undertakings(DPSUs). Each undertaking will have a specific manufacturing role.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 41 factories under the OFB<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be subsumed under one or the other of the seven new companies. These all will be 100% government-owned public sector undertakings(PSU).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/ofb-corporatisation-approved-by-cabinet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Click Here to Read more about OFB Corporatization<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><b>What are the seven new DPSUs?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Advanced Weapons and Equipment India (AWE) Limited: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AWE India is based in <strong>Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh<\/strong>. It is involved in the manufacturing of small arms and weapons for the armed forces and police.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVANI): <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the biggest among all the seven new DPSUs. It is located in <strong>Chennai, Tamil Nadu<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Gliders India Limited (GIL): <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This company has a registered address in <strong>Kanpur<\/strong>. It is involved in the manufacture of textiles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>India Optel Limited (IOL):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is headquartered in <strong>Dehradun<\/strong>, <strong>Uttarakhand<\/strong>. It is involved in the manufacturing of electrical machinery and apparatus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Munitions India Limited (MIL):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is based in <strong>Pune<\/strong>, <strong>Maharashtra<\/strong>.
