{"id":141615,"date":"2021-10-18T19:01:02","date_gmt":"2021-10-18T13:31:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=141615"},"modified":"2021-10-22T17:19:37","modified_gmt":"2021-10-22T11:49:37","slug":"worlds-most-powerful-passports-as-per-henleys-index-india-at-90th-spot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/worlds-most-powerful-passports-as-per-henleys-index-india-at-90th-spot\/","title":{"rendered":"World&#8217;s most powerful passports as per Henley&#8217;s Index; India at 90th spot"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Henley &amp; Partners has released the Henley Passport Index.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the Henley Passport Index?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Henley Passport Index(HPI) was started in 2006 as Henley &amp; Partners Visa Restrictions Index (HVRI) and was modified and renamed in January 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The index \u200b\u200b<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ranks the passports of countries according to the number of destinations their holders can visit without a prior visa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The rankings are based on the analysis of data provided by the <strong>International Air Transport Association<\/strong> (IATA).<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What are the key findings of the index?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Topped by:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Japan and Singapore stood at the top of the index, with their passport holders allowed to travel visa-free to 192 countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>India:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> India, which held the 84th rank in 2020 fell down to the 90th position with its passport holders allowed to travel visa-free to 58 countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Bottom: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the bottom of the index is Afghanistan with an Afghan passport allowing visa-free travel to only 26 countries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Other countries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the bottom of the index are Iraq, Syria, Pakistan and Yemen.
