Delhi-based company Takachar is one among five winners of the first-ever Earth shot Prize, also called \u201cEco Oscar<\/strong>\u201d. They won the prize in the \u201cClean Our Air\u201d category for their technology to create fuel, fertiliser and other speciality chemicals from agricultural waste.<\/span><\/p>\n Earthshot Prize<\/b> is also called the<\/span> \u201cEco Oscars\u201d. It is an award set up by Prince William and the Royal Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n Objective:<\/strong> To honour five finalists between 2021 and 2030 for developing solutions to fight the climate crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n The prize is inspired by US President John F Kennedy’s <\/span>“Moonshot” programme<\/b>, which resulted in the <\/span>US Apollo lunar launches<\/b> and the first man setting foot on the Moon in 1969.<\/span><\/p>\n Categories:<\/strong> The year\u00a02021 was the first year when awards were handed out to five finalists for their contributions towards the five UN Sustainable Development Goals \u2014 restoration and protection of nature, air cleanliness, ocean revival, waste-free living and climate action.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Prize Money:<\/strong> The winner will receive prize money of \u00a31 million.
