Defence Research and Development Organisation<\/strong>(DRDO) has successfully flight-tested Abhyas High-speed Expendable Aerial Target<\/strong> (HEAT) from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Abhyas?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Abhyas is an indigenously developed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle<\/strong>(UAV) that will be used as a target for the evaluation of various missile systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

Developed by:<\/b> It has been designed and developed by DRDO\u2019s Aeronautical Development Establishment(ADE).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the key Features of Abhyas?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Abhyas is powered by a small gas turbine engine to sustain a long endurance flight at subsonic speed.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also equipped with a MEMS-based Inertial Navigation System<\/strong>(INS) for navigation, along with the Flight Control Computer<\/strong>(FCC) for guidance and control.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, the Abhyas vehicle is programmed for fully autonomous flight. The check-out of air vehicle is done using a laptop-based Ground Control Station<\/strong> (GCS)<\/span><\/p>\n
