What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n

As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, a total of 152 Centre for Financial Literacy & Service Delivery (SAKSHAM) Centres have been launched under <\/span>Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana \u2013 National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM)<\/span><\/a> of the Ministry of Rural Development<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are SAKSHAM Centres?<\/b><\/h5>\n

SAKSHAM Centres\u00a0are also known as <\/span>Centre for Financial Literacy & Service Delivery. They are a one-stop solution\/single window system for the basic financial needs of Self-Help Group (SHG) households in rural areas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Objective:<\/strong> To provide financial literacy & facilitate delivery of financial services (savings, credit, insurance, pensions etc) to SHG members and rural poor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Managed by:<\/strong> These Centers will be managed by the SHG network, largely at the level of the Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) with the help of trained Community Resource Persons(CRPs).<\/span><\/p>\n

Who will train CRPs?<\/strong> These CRPs will be provided residential training at Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) established by the Lead Bank of the district.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

About SAKSHAM App<\/b><\/h5>\n

The SAKSHAM is a mobile & web-based application<\/strong> launched by the <\/span>Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD).<\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose:<\/strong> The app will be used by the community resource person of the Centre to know the penetration of various financial services for each SHG & village, identify major gaps and accordingly provide training and deliver the required financial services.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The application will also measure<\/strong> the impact of the programme on regular intervals for mid-course correction in strategy if any.<\/span><\/p>\n
