The Government of India <\/span>has reconstituted the Economic Advisory Council<\/strong> to the Prime Minister<\/strong> (EAC-PM) under the leadership of Dr Bibek Debroy for a period of two years after its term came to an end in September 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n EAC-PM is a non-constitutional, non-permanent and independent body constituted to give economic advice to the Government of India, specifically the Prime Minister.<\/span><\/p>\n Aim:<\/b> To <\/span>highlight key economic issues facing the country to the government of India from a neutral viewpoint.<\/span><\/p>\n Note: <\/b>F<\/span>or administrative, logistic, planning and budgeting purposes, the NITI Aayog serves as the Nodal Agency for the EAC-PM.<\/span><\/p>\n To analyze all critical issues, economic or otherwise, referred to by the Prime Minister and advising him thereon.<\/span><\/p>\n To address issues of macroeconomic importance and present views thereon. <\/span>This could be either suo-moto or on a reference from the Prime Minister or anyone else.<\/span><\/p>\n Composition<\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span>The EAC-PM is chaired by a Chairperson and consists of eminent economists as members.<\/span><\/p>\n Reports by EAC-PM:<\/b> It publishes 2 major reports: 1. <\/span>Economic Outlook: It is an annual publication, 2.\u00a0<\/span>Review of the Economy.<\/span><\/p>\n Source:<\/b> This post is based on the article <\/span>\u201c<\/b>EAC-PM: 3 new members inducted<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in <\/span>\u201cIndian Express\u201d on 28th October 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
