– Scientific Name:<\/b> Panthera uncia<\/span><\/p>\n

– Habitat:<\/b> It <\/span>lives at high altitudes in the steep mountains of Central and Southern Asia, where the climate is extremely cold.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Diet:<\/b> Snow leopards are carnivores that actively hunt their prey.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Range Countries:<\/b> It is found in 12 range countries namely Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.<\/span><\/p>\n

– India<\/b>: It is found in higher Himalayan and trans-Himalayan landscape in the states\/union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n

– State Animal:<\/b> It is the State animal of Himachal Pradesh<\/span><\/p>\n

– Indicator Species: <\/b>Snow Leopard (also known as Ghost of the mountains) acts as an indicator of the health of the mountain ecosystem in which they live. It is because of their position as the top predator in the food web.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Snow Leopard capital of the world:<\/b> Hemis, Ladakh.<\/span><\/p>\n

– IUCN Red list Status:<\/b> Vulnerable (VU)
