India and the UK have launched the <\/span>Infrastructure for Resilient Island States(IRIS) Initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n IRIS is the first major initiative under the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).<\/span><\/p>\n Aim: <\/b>To <\/span>make critical infrastructure in the SIDS (Small Island Developing States) resilient against all kinds of disasters.<\/span><\/p>\n As part of the initiative, the\u00a0Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) will create a <\/span>special \u201cdata window\u201d<\/b> for SIDS (Small Island Developing States).<\/span><\/p>\n This window will <\/span>provide SIDS countries timely information <\/span>about cyclones, coral-reef monitoring, coast-line monitoring <\/b>through the satellite.
