The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) has selected Srinagar as part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) under the Crafts and Folk Arts category.<\/span><\/p>\n UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) was launched in 2004 to <\/span>promote cooperation among cities which recognized creativity as a major factor in their urban development.<\/span><\/p>\n Aim:<\/b> To foster mutual international cooperation with and between member cities committed to invest in creativity as a driver for sustainable urban development, social inclusion and cultural vibrancy.<\/span><\/p>\n Categories: <\/b>\u00a0<\/b>The Network covers seven creative fields: <\/span>Crafts and Folk Arts, Media Arts, Film, Design, Gastronomy, Literature and Music.<\/b><\/p>\n Cities:<\/b> The <\/span>network now includes 295 cities covering around 90 countries.<\/span><\/p>\n Chennai and Varanasi – Cities of music;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Jaipur – City of crafts and folk arts;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Mumbai – City of film and\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Hyderabad – City of gastronomy.<\/span><\/p>\n Source: <\/b>This post is based on the following articles:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What is the News?
