The Indian Navy has taken delivery of its fourth Scorpene-class submarine named \u2018Vela\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

About INS Vela<\/b><\/h5>\n

INS Vela is the <\/span>fourth submarine under Project 75 for the Indian Navy.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a diesel-electric attack submarine based on the Scorp\u00e8ne class.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Project 75<\/b><\/h5>\n

Project \u2013 75 includes the construction of six submarines of Scorpene design.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These submarines are being constructed at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) Mumbai, under collaboration with M\/s Naval Group, France.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among them, three submarines namely INS Karanj, INS Kalvari and INS Khanderi are functional. The fourth one INS Vela was delivered now.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fifth one INS Vagir was launched in 2020 and the sixth one, INS Vagsheer is under construction.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
