Indian astronomers have developed a methodology named \u201c<\/span>critical noise treatment algorithm\u201d. <\/b>This algorithm can help understand exoplanets accurately by reducing the contamination by the Earth\u2019s atmosphere and the disturbances due to instrumental effects and other factors.<\/span><\/p>\n Exoplanets are <\/span>planets that orbit a star other than the Sun. <\/span>The first confirmation of detection of exoplanets occurred in 1992.<\/span><\/p>\n Astronomers study the physical properties of exoplanets with extreme accuracy as it can help them to explore the ones that could be similar to planet Earth and hence might be habitable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Astronomers at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore have been studying exoplanets using the ground-based optical telescopes<\/strong> available in India and the data obtained by the space telescope \u201cTransiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite(TESS)<\/a>“.<\/span><\/p>\n The method used by TESS<\/b>: It uses the photometric transit method to detect exoplanets.
