{"id":148317,"date":"2021-11-23T20:41:54","date_gmt":"2021-11-23T15:11:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=148317"},"modified":"2021-11-24T09:43:12","modified_gmt":"2021-11-24T04:13:12","slug":"union-minister-flags-off-first-ever-all-india-survey-on-domestic-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/union-minister-flags-off-first-ever-all-india-survey-on-domestic-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"Union Minister flags off first ever All India Survey on Domestic Workers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Minister for Labour and Employment has flagged off the first-ever All India Survey on Domestic workers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the All-India Survey on Domestic Workers(DW)?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Conducted by:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Aim: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To estimate the proportion of domestic workers at the national level and in the States; the proportion of domestic workers who live-in\/live-out, workers engaged in informal employment and migrant\/non-migrant; wages of such workers and other socio-economic factors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Parameters:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Survey would collect information on the following broad parameters:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Household Characteristics <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">such as house size, Religion, Social Group, Usual Monthly Consumption Expenditure.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Demographic Characteristics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as Name, Age, Relation to Head, Marital Status, General Education Level, Usual Principal Activity Status.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Information on Domestic Workers(DWs)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as their Age of entry, Social Group, Migrant status, Vocational Training\/Education, number of days worked among others.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Information on employers is also collected<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as their preferences of DW regarding gender and marital status, mode of payment of wages, mode of engagement, medical support given to DWs etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Significance of the survey:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The survey will help the government understand significant issues on certain special and vulnerable segments of labour and will guide effective policymaking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201c<\/b><b>Union Minister <\/b><b>flags off first ever All India Survey on Domestic Workers\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> published by <\/span><b>PIB <\/b>on <b>22nd Nov 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the News?
