{"id":14850,"date":"2020-04-16T01:49:40","date_gmt":"2020-04-15T20:19:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=14850"},"modified":"2020-04-16T01:49:40","modified_gmt":"2020-04-15T20:19:40","slug":"world-chagas-disease-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/world-chagas-disease-day\/","title":{"rendered":"World Chagas Disease Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>World Chagas Disease Day is being celebrated for the first time on April 14,2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Chagas disease also known as American trypanosomiasis is caused by the protozoan parasite Trypanosoma cruzi (T. cruzi).<\/li><li>It is classified as a neglected tropical disease(NTD) which means it mostly affects the poorest countries of the developing world.<\/li><li><strong>Transmission:<\/strong>The main route of transmission is through the insect called triatomine bug which carries the Trypanosoma cruzi.<\/li><li><strong>Other routes of transmission: <\/strong>oral transmission, blood transfusion, mother-to-child, organ transplantation transmissions or even laboratory accident transmission.<\/li><li><strong>Distribution: <\/strong>Mexico, Central America, and South America.<\/li><li><strong>Symptoms: a) <\/strong>Initial Phase: Purplish swelling of the lids of one eye, fever, difficulty in breathing among others <strong>b) <\/strong>Later Phase: cardiac disorders, digestive problems, neurological or mixed alterations which can lead to sudden death.<\/li><li><strong>Treatment: <\/strong>It is curable if treatment is initiated soon after infection.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:World Chagas Disease Day is being celebrated for the first time on April 14,2020.
