Stunting &#8211; declined from 38.4% to 35.5%, 2. Wasting declined from 21% to 19.3%, 3. Underweight &#8211; declined from 35.8% to 32.1% and 4. Overweight &#8211;\u00a0 Increased from 2.1% to 3.4%. Further, breastfeeding is also shown an improvement from 55% in 2015-16 to 64% in 2019-21.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child marriage<\/strong>: Declined from 27% to 23% in the last five years. West Bengal and Bihar had the highest prevalence of girl child marriage, and this has remained unchanged since the NFHS-4.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_148920\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-148920\" style=\"width: 379px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-148920\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Anaemia.png?resize=379%2C356&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"NFHS-5\" width=\"379\" height=\"356\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Anaemia.png?w=695&amp;ssl=1 695w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Anaemia.png?resize=300%2C281&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 379px) 100vw, 379px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-148920\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Livemint<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Anaemia<\/strong>: More than half of the children and women (including pregnant women) are anaemic in all the phase-II States\/UTs and all-India levels compared to NFHS4.<\/p>\n<p>Assam is among the worst-performing states, with a huge spike in anaemic cases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s empowerment<\/strong>: Significant progress has been recorded between NFHS-4 and NFHS-5 in regard to women operating bank accounts from 53% to 79% at an all-India level.<\/p>\n<h5>What are the significant things to consider from NFHS-5 Survey?<\/h5>\n<p>Achievement of TFR is a significant feat for the <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/population-control-measures-in-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">country\u2019s family-planning programme<\/a>. But, the onus of family planning still lies with women.
