{"id":150285,"date":"2021-12-02T20:11:13","date_gmt":"2021-12-02T14:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=150285"},"modified":"2021-12-11T17:20:57","modified_gmt":"2021-12-11T11:50:57","slug":"neia-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/neia-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"NEIA SCHEME"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has informed the Lok Sabha about the National Export Insurance Account(NEIA) Trust.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the National Export Insurance Account(NEIA) Trust?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NEIA Trust was set up in 2006 by the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ministry of Commerce and Industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Aim: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To ensure the availability of credit risk cover for projects and other high-value exports, which are desirable from the point of view of national interest but which Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC) is unable to underwrite due to capacity constraints.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What types of export transactions are eligible for inclusion under NEIA?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b> <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following types of export transactions are eligible for inclusion under NEIA:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only such <strong>medium and long-term export projects<\/strong> which are viable and for which reinsurance is not available.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exports to countries that are not likely to be covered on <strong>purely commercial considerations<\/strong> or are beyond <strong>country-exposure limits of ECGC<\/strong> or countries currently facing <strong>economic\/political difficulties,<\/strong> but where Indian presence is required.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transactions involving <strong>investments by Indian companies in overseas markets<\/strong> can be covered for the protection of their investments against expropriation risks and limited recourse covers (insolvency risks).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Note: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Expropriation is the act of a government claiming privately owned property against the wishes of the owners, ostensibly to be used for the benefit of the overall public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Source<\/strong>: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201c<\/b><b>NEIA SCHEME<\/b><b>\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published in <\/span><b>PIB <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on<\/span><b> 1st December, 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the News?
