The <\/span>Committee on Empowerment of Women has tabled its report titled \u201c<\/span>Empowerment of women through education with special reference to Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme\u201d in Lok Sabha.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the key findings of the report related to Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Nearly <\/span>80% of the funds allocated under the scheme have been used for advertising<\/strong> and not on sectoral interventions such as in health and education for women.<\/span><\/p>\n

Out of the total funds allocated for the scheme since 2014-15, only 25% has been spent by the states<\/strong>, reflecting less than optimal performance of the scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the suggestions given by the report?<\/b><\/h5>\n

The panel has urged the Ministry of Women and Child Development to ensure that the funds for the scheme are utilised properly.<\/span><\/p>\n

It said that the government should focus on planned expenditure allocation for sectoral interventions in education and health.<\/span><\/p>\n
