Baluchistan is among the least developed even though\u00a0it is\u00a0the most resource-rich of Pakistan\u2019s four provinces. The main means of livelihood for people in the region is fishing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are Indian Specific concerns\u00a0of India?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gwadar gives\u00a0<\/span>China\u00a0the\u00a0strategic access to the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. It\u00a0is not just being developed as a trade entrepot but as a\u00a0dual-purpose\u00a0port for use by PLAN (the Chinese Navy<\/span><\/b>) and is intended to expand\u00a0<\/span>Chinese presence in the Indian Ocean\u00a0region<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0With vital military interests in West Asia, the US too is concerned about the Chinese presence in Gwadar.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Given China\u2019s ambitions in the Indo-Pacific, and Pakistan\u2019s close military ties with it, these concerns will remain.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
