The Government of India is organizing<\/span> the first of its kind innovation week titled <\/span>“Celebrating Innovation Ecosystem” <\/span>to encourage the Startup ecosystem in India.<\/span><\/p>\n

About Celebrating Innovation Ecosystem Week<\/b><\/h5>\n

Organized by: <\/b>Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)<\/span><\/p>\n

Aim:<\/b> To <\/span>bring together India\u2019s key startups, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and other national or international stakeholders to exchange knowledge on best practices on nurturing startup ecosystems.<\/span><\/p>\n

Themes<\/b>: The main themes of the event are international engagements, market access and incubation support, funding support to start-ups.<\/span><\/p>\n

Significance:<\/b> The event will also mark the 6th anniversary of the ‘Startup India’ initiative launch.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Startups in India<\/b><\/h5>\n

As of June 2021, 50,000 startups across have been recognized as startups by DPIIT.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each State and UT has at least one startup. About 1.7 lakh jobs were created by recognized startups in the 2020-2021 period alone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The sectors that had the maximum registered startups were \u2018Food Processing\u2019, \u2018Product Development\u2019, \u2018Application Development\u2019, \u2018IT Consulting\u2019 and \u2018Business Support Services\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The leadership teams of 45% of startups have a woman entrepreneur, a trend that will inspire more women entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into startups.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
