What is the actual reason for this inequality?<\/span><\/b><\/h5>\n

Inequality is actually a result of poor redistributive policies<\/strong> and lack of discouragement of accumulation<\/strong> by governments.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Kuznets theory<\/strong> presents the view that the average level of income is indicative of inequality<\/strong>. But this seems to be false as high-income countries such as the U.S. have higher levels of inequality as against countries such as Sweden, which have moderate levels of inequality.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, Inequality is sometimes understood to be an outcome of rising levels of income<\/strong> in the post-liberalization era.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>But this preposition also appears to be false as the rise in inequalities in the U.S. and India is higher against a moderate rise in China.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the implications of rising inequality?<\/h5>\n

Rising inequality leads to rich nations but poor countries<\/strong>. As inequality rises, resources gradually move into private hands and governments become poor and resource deficient.<\/span> This may result in the following outcomes:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Firstly<\/span><\/i><\/b>, Governments will have a limited capacity<\/strong> to act on measures required to tackle inequality.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly<\/span><\/i><\/b>, distributional fairness of wealth will be compromised due to private interests.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
