The Prime Minister has announced new vaccination plans for Covid-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the new announcements made by the Prime Minister related to the Covid-19 Vaccine?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Firstly,<\/b> Covid-19 Vaccine <\/span>will be made available for children above 15 years from January 3, 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly,<\/b> the \u201cprecautionary\u201d doses will be administered to healthcare and frontline workers (HFW) of India from January 10, 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thirdly, <\/b>precautionary doses will also be available for senior citizens \u2014 those above 60 \u2014 with co-morbidities if recommended by their doctors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Note:<\/b> In India, a booster dose is called a precautionary dose. The aim of this dose is to <\/span>boost immunity which is likely to wane 7-8 months after vaccination or previous infection.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
