He has urged people to work towards preserving such ancient forms in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is Kaavi Art?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-156620 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/440px-Kaavi_Kala.jpg?resize=300%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/440px-Kaavi_Kala.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/440px-Kaavi_Kala.jpg?w=440&amp;ssl=1 440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kaavi is a form of <strong>wall art<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">found in <strong>Konkan region,<\/strong> especially in temples of Goa, parts of coastal<strong> Maharashtra<\/strong> and<strong> Karnataka<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The art was introduced by the <strong>Portuguese<\/strong> who ruled Goa until 1961.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The art takes its name from <\/span><strong><i>Kaav<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> in Konkani<\/strong> which refers to Indian red pigment which is the only color used in this painting.
